Hi there, I’m Lucy Watson and an ITV News Correspondent. For more than 10 months, we have been reporting on the death, destruction and devastation of the Israel-Gaza war.
I have covered the story from Israel, but have been angered and frustrated, like so many others, that we are still not allowed into Gaza independently, to bear witness to events.
I recently travelled to Egypt to follow-up on the story of 28 babies rescued from the besieged Al-Shifa Hospital in November.
With the help of colleagues in Gaza, Israel and Egypt, we found many of them in Cairo. Four had sadly died, two were still being treated in hospital, 10 are back with family and eight were in a state-supervised children’s centre.
Mostafa was the little boy I met first, and I will never forget him. He was seven days old when a rocket hit his home, killing his father, his two little brothers and his grandpa. His mother Halima died 18 days later.
The impact of the blast hurled him in his cot onto a neighbour’s roof. He survived, but lost the sight in his right eye yet he was absolutely joyous.
We are journalists who are privileged enough to tell other peoples’ stories in all parts of the world. Whether it is my place or not, I don’t know, but I found it impossible not to stroke Mostafa’s cheek or hold his little hand or chat to him, to let him know and feel that a stranger cared.
The most vulnerable and defenceless are paying the highest price in this war. What lies ahead for the babies I met is uncertain.
These children don’t have a past. The Gaza they were born in no longer exists, and right now they don’t have a future either, only a traumatic limbo.

Southport riots and the fake news factories
A website accused of fuelling race riots in British towns and cities has been shut down after ITV News confronted the man thought to operate it on his luxury housing estate in Pakistan.
The site was taken offline on Tuesday afternoon, hours after our journalists tracked him down to ask whether falsehoods spread by the site contributed to the violence that followed.
Farhan Asif denied being responsible for the violence which erupted following false claims about the killing of three schoolgirls in Southport last month.
ITV News’ Global Security Editor Rohit Kachroo reports on how we traced him and what he said - watch his report on ITVX.
The shocking injuries sustained at trampoline parks
Louise Wright was celebrating a friend's birthday at Flip Out Chester in 2017 when she broke her back.
CCTV footage shows the moment Louise jumped 13 feet from the park’s star attraction, the tower jump. She was meant to land in foam but says the surface she landed on was hard and that she immediately felt a sharp shooting pain up her back.
Figures obtained by ITV News show that more than 1,000 ambulance call-outs were made to trampoline parks in England, Wales and Northern Ireland over the last three years.

‘Russian roulette’ of pink cocaine
"Taking pink cocaine is like playing Russian roulette. You never know what you're going to get.”
The drug - also known as tusi- is on the rise on the party island of Ibiza and is worrying authorities.
One of the key concerns is that it rarely contains cocaine at all. It's usually a mix of other drugs including MDMA and ketamine, but increasingly it also contains caffeine, speed and in some cases, fentanyl.
ITV News was given exclusive access as the only UK broadcaster to join police trying to tackle pink cocaine on the streets of Ibiza, as George Hancorn reports.
How AI is changing how we mourn
When Leanne Battersby started talking to a digital avatar of her dead son on Coronation Street it raised eyebrows.
Critics said it was insensitive and far fetched - but could the reality be even more extreme?
ITV News Science Correspondent Martin Stew has been looking at the rise of so-called death or grief bots - AI computer programmes which allow you to "chat" with digital recreations of loved ones who have died.

Could viral moments win the White House?
Kamala Harris has thrown US presidential election predictions up in the air since becoming the official Democrat candidate.

Urban art? You can take that to the Banksy

Enigmatic graffiti artist Banksy has been a busy bee. Over the past few days, he’s revealed nine artworks featuring animals in urban settings around London.
From a rhino mounting a clapped out Nissan Micra to fish swimming around a police box and a gorilla seeming lifting a shutter at London Zoo to release birds, the pieces have attracted huge interest.
But the question remains: just who is Banksy? Well, ITV London has dug out an interview with the elusive artist from 21 years ago - he's never done another TV interview since - have a look on ITVX.
We guess that’s why they call it The Blues…
Football fans are regularly put through torment by their clubs. Few would have endured such a tumultuous season as those of Birmingham City.
From the promise of having an England legend Wayne Rooney as manager, and the thrill of a takeover by a US consortium that includes NFL legend Tom Brady, the season ultimately imploded.
ITV News Central’s Sports Correspondent Dan Salisbury-Jones tracked the club’s topsy-turvy campaign for a special ITVX documentary, which you can see here.
What’s coming up…

And finally… inside the battle of the berries
It may seem to be the most gentle of British traditions but for more than 200 years the Egton Bridge gooseberry show has been a setting for fierce rivalry, where reputations can be made (or crushed) and records broken.
And it’s a surprisingly strict competition - entries have to be on the table by noon or competitors miss out. If you miss it by even a minute, that’s it.
